"Yeah...yeah it is," he told Gamzee without lifting his head to look at him. He hoped this horrible sap wasn't going to sink into his bark and make him ill. Being smoked like a forest fire was bad enough. It probably was. He was dying. He was going to die. Oh no. He couldn't even whip himself up into a panic. He just slouched there with his hand stuck to the side of the kid's head.

Ginko's well-meaning advice slithered in one ear and out the other. Henry turned to look at his notbrother and blinked sluggishly. This is the part where he would probably apologize again and thank Ginko for his help. Maybe even suggest they laugh the whole thing off. But that didn't happen. Instead he said,

"All I want is a grilled cheese sandwich and then I can die."
