OPEN RP POST (wip)

This is a general catch-all post for anyone who wants to thread with Ginko in his original setting - or at least something resembling it. Want to play an AU? Post-jamjar? Unexpected interdimensional travel? It's all good! In addition, if you want to thread something with mushi and such but in a more modern setting, I'm totally open to modern-day AU's. I'm fine with prose, brackets, whatever.

Please note that I'm totally open to using this post for action, fluff, whatever, but not smut. If you have any additional questions about the setting or types of mushi, just message me on this account!

"Was... this a dream?"

Somehow, he doubts it. He pulls his sleeve over his hand to wipe at Frisk's face.

Frisk is a little surprised when he wipes away their tears, but after a moment they shake their head.

"Nuh-uh. I had to wake up again." Another sniffle, and their gaze drops to the ground. "You...you got hurt real bad."

He thinks it over, frowning down at them in concern. They'd mentioned him falling before, as well as the whole thing about waking up again...

"...Frisk, when you say you woke up again... what happens when you do that?" His gaze drops to the flowers around them. "Does it have anything to do with those flowers?"

[gainedlove]

They shake their head again. "No, they don't do it. I just close my eyes, an' I go back and wake up again, so it's like nothing happened. But I still remember. The flowers just like to say hello when I wake up."

It's never even occurred to them that the flowers would have anything to do with it. They just show up, and they don't even do anything funny like the mushis do.

"That so..."

Well, the flowers are definitely connected, in any case. But that's of less concern than the 'it's like nothing happened' part.

"Do you mean, then, that from your point of view this has happened before?"

[gainedlove]

Frisk shrugs a little, clinging a little less tightly but still leaning on him. "Not talking like this. But I napped with you before."

From what they've said, he supposes that fits in pretty well. So whenever they sleep, that's the point they'll come back to if they use this mushi, then.

"Got it... and the river was after this, then?"

[gainedlove]

"Yeah. I'll find a better path this time."

They look up again shyly, trying to tell if he still trusts them or not. This is twice they've messed up already, after all.

"...Alright. I'm sure you will." He nods, hiding his worry for the moment. This kid seems to be taking on a lot of pressure here.

"But don't worry about it too much, okay?"

[gainedlove]

Frisk huffs out a soft breath, leaning their cheek on his arm again. "I promised, though."

Ginko is quiet for a few seconds, not moving or pulling away.

"...Unfortunately, nobody can be totally sure of things like this. But I know you're going to try your best, in any case - that's enough, alright?"

[gainedlove]

Frisk is quiet for several long seconds before they nod, finally unwinding their arms from around Ginko's and scrubbing at their eyes.

"I'm really sorry..."

"It's alright."

Once they seem to have calmed down a little, Ginko stands up, hauling his pack onto his back again. He leans down a little, offering a hand to help them up. "Ready to go?"

[gainedlove]

Frisk manages a tiny smile and nods, taking Ginko's hand and pulling themself back up to their feet. They look off in the direction of the river, thinking hard and gripping hard onto the sleeve of their kimono. Following the river is the quickest way to the meadow, but they can't risk Ginko getting hurt again...

"We can...we can just follow away from the bank. Then you won't fall again." That should work. Frisk looks back at Ginko one more time before setting off down the hill, at a much more reasonable pace than they've been setting before.

"Good idea."

Ginko follows behind them carefully, making a mental note to watch his step. Given how little they both knew about this mushi, it seems risky for Frisk to keep using it, but it seems that convincing them of that, if it's possible at all, is going to take a while. In the meantime, he'll just have to do whatever he can to avoid situations where they'll feel the need to try.

Frisk picks their way along with more care, but once the pair of them reach a relatively clear path Frisk seems to relax and speed up a little bit. Ahead the sound of rushing water can be heard, but once they come in sight of the river Frisk starts cutting through the underbrush again to keep them parallel with it. It's not too difficult to pick a path through, but it definitely takes some concentration.

"Are all the mushis little? I only ever saw little ones." So of course Frisk strikes up a conversation.

Even if they can't see him from up ahead, Ginko shakes his head as he pushes aside a branch and ducks under it.

"Not all of them. Some can be almost as big as a mountain. But those tend to be less common."
