I can do bridges. [That needs to be known, okay, he has crossed so many bridges in his life. The fact that he has to steel himself for them doesn't mean he can't do it!!]
[When Hector arrives, Ginko is sitting outside the cottage, fiddling with the fringe of his poncho with his remaining hand. His arm and the dressing keeping it protected are hidden under the heavy fabric; the extra layer kind of feels like it adds another level of security, if he's honest, even if the way the fabric weighs against his arm is kind of strange.]
[Chip keeps up just behind Hector, watching him more than where they're going to be sure Hector doesn't fall apart. So it's not until he shouts that they actually take a close look at Ginko and their hands fly up to their mouth in horror. Even without saying anything, their expression probably says enough as it is.]
[Ginko pushes himself to his feet when he sees Hector approaching, and-- shit, he looks like a mess. What the hell is he doing going anywhere?
Too bad Hector starts scolding him first, and ah shit there's the kid. Ginko winces, glancing between Hector and Chip, and his reply is defensive before he puts any other answer together.] There wasn't really a way to bring it up gracefully-- [Alright he should probably try to say something even slightly comforting.] --It's being treated, I'm alright.
Ginko! Amigo! I need you to know--I need to tell you I can't take it anymore!
[He's so drunk. Goodness knows where he found some monster-magicked booze he could actually drink. Shame he hadn't found it back in March when he really needed some pain relief. Ah, well.]
Both of you, you're both terrible. [He doesn't sound the least bit angry. More like he's trying his best not to break into laughter and his best... sucks.] You guys are literally killing me all over again. I'm dying here! [...yeah, he's snickering for a moment.] It's been almost half a year! Right? Right?? I wanted to be happy for you, I am happy for you, which I can't be if I don't know, and I can't know if you don't tell me! But I am. Happy for you. It's so nice, I'm glad for you.
[What the actual hell is the logic here, one may have to ask.]
No! That's backwards! You're going to tell me. [It's a race against time. Can Ginko figure out what the fuck he's talking about before he falls asleep? It's nighttime, he's an old skele, it happens.] If it were me it wouldn't be a problem! But, oh, at least it's better than how you two were with each other before.
[Painfully obvious, and him having to keep his mouth shut for months. Terrible.]
I can't tell you anything if I don't know what you want me to tell you-- you know what, I'm coming over there.
["How you two were before"... might narrow the issue down? But, frankly, Hector is making so little sense he doesn't want to assume much of anything, and the thought of trying to work it out over the stones is already making him tired. And this is when he's normally awake.
So, he's starting on his way to Hector's house.] I'm not sneaky.
[It's been a few hours since Shiemi arrived, and now things are at the "show her around and explain the island" stage.
And he has an idea of Ginko's general schedule, so he can aim their path where he expects the troll to be, and he follows Ginko's scent with flicks of his tongue.
There he is.]
Ginko-san, if you have a moment? [Yukio isn't alone.]
[ Yukio isn't alone. There's a certain blond beside him dressed in a kimono with a little green fellow perched atop her shoulder and while Nee seems to echo Yukio in questioning, Shiemi is seemingly happy and attentive if quiet. She has been throughout the trek, listening, looking -- looking, especially, every time Yuki-chan's forked tongue flicks out from his mouth, but that name causes her to pause and turn her eyes to the person he's addressing and she stops in her tracks, pink still tinging her cheeks, mouth slightly agape. ]
[Ginko looks up as soon as he hears Yukio speak, his tail giving a small flick in greeting before he actually says anything.
Which takes just slightly longer than it might otherwise, because looking up means he sees Shiemi. And seeing Shiemi means taking a moment to process that Shiemi is here now. And is... probably not the same Shiemi he knew. Again.
Well, that'll be something to work through bit by bit.] Oh, no problem.
This is Moriyama Shiemi, she and I have known each other for quite some time, and she's one of my students at the exorcist cram school back in our world. [And he turns to see... Shiemi kind of staring, in that awed way she has.
Shiemi's watching Ginko, and Yukio's watching Shiemi, and he's blushing just a little bit, that blue glow settling in high on his cheeks, setting the iridescent blue of his fae mark glittering a little.
He's usually fairly immune to Shiemi, but he hasn't seen her in a while, that's apparently lowered his tolerance.]
Shiemi-san, this is Ginko. His assistance has been invaluable in the clinic, and here on these islands.
[ It's a big, bright smile more than tugging at Shiemi's mouth with that introduction. She's practically sparkling as she takes Ginko in, and with a breathless exclamation -- ]
So cool!
[ -- that's nothing short of earnest. Between all that fluffy fur, his fangs, and that really fluffy tail, she's beaming and... issuing a proper bow in greeting now. ]
[Ginko's gaze flicks from Shiemi's awed face to Yukio watching her. He's never seen Yukio looking like that before - except maybe, a little bit, that time he really suspiciously mentioned a "friend" from home. Huh.
There isn't much time to consider that, or even greet Shiemi, before her reaction smacks into him full-force. He shouldn't really be surprised by Shiemi being ridiculously cute - but then, he hasn't seen her in a while, either.]
Uh-- thanks. Nice to meet you, too.
[Alright, time to try not to be weird. He tucks the supplies he's harvested into his bag and dusts his hands off before looking up at Shiemi, and the little creature on her shoulder. That's new.] ...Mind if I ask who that is?
do i have the right icon no i dont but yukio is an IDIOT
[Yukio is too busy looking at Shiemi to notice Ginko's glance. He's smiling, soft and quiet and sincere as he steps back a bit so Shiemi can step forward. He's missed her so much, and she's smiling so brightly up at Ginko without a hint of concern, and his heart is so full that it aches.
He really needs to get a grip on things, but Shiemi is just too overwhelming.]
[ Shiemi is too overwhelming and oblivious as to how Yukio is looking at her in this moment. Her attention is solidly on Ginko, at whom she has not quite stopped sparkling, and she visibly brightens alongside her... well, straightening familiar given that the bow caused the little guy to have to hold onto her kimono, but he'd had fun with that and it's a quick recovery. ]
Oh, I'm sorry! This is Nee-chan.
[ "Nee nee!" The little greenman waves with a warm enthusiasm at Ginko. Friendly? Very! Hello, new person! ]

Once he's close enough to pick up on that little fact... well. He stops dead, flings his arms out, and shouts his 'lungs' out.]
Your arm--what--your arm!! For the love of god, Ginko!! Were you going to say anything?!

[What?? This is, from Ginko's point of view, a lot of words that tell him VERY little about why they're happening.
Or, well - he kind of suspects is has to do with Hector sounding... sort of intoxicated? But that isn't exactly an explanation in itself.]
You can't take-- if I don't tell you what? If there's something you need to tell me, you can just do that.
[Should he be worried????]

no subject
Yeah, sure. I'm being careful, as I cross the bridge, right now.
[He is crossing the bridge. He's keeping his eye fixed carefully on the bridge itself and not either side of it, but he's crossing it.]
