for that matter, i don't think i've seen a lot of people wondering about that particular detail at all - might be good to look into.

it may have, but i haven't seen anything about it. i guess people have mostly been concerned with why it's happening to begin with and things like that, more than why particular people get the changes they do.

how is it selfish to want to give someone an explanation when they might not otherwise get one? there's nothing wrong with wanting to find something out for a particular person's sake.

I'd rather give bad news than be the one to get it.

it's not like that's all that unusual. besides, in cases like this, it's often better to get bad news than to be left in the dark anyway.

it's how i've always preferred things to go, anyway. maybe other people think differently, but if something bad is going on either way, i'd rather know about it.

i don't much like speaking in absolutes. but i would say that, far more often than not, it's better to know.

Maybe. I feel like sometimes all knowing can do is make things worse.

it may seem that way occasionally. but, in my experience, ignorance is far more likely to lead to harm.

Why? Everything here is inevitable, isn't it?
The same thing happened to the people before us, and the people before them.
Knowing hasn't changed that.

no, but things have gotten a little better.

i was in the first group to come here, and what do you think happened when we started changing? nobody expected it. nobody knew what has happening. we didn't have an explanation, we didn't know what might happen next. we didn't know if it would ever stop at all, or if we would just keep going through all this forever.

we haven't managed to fix everything. we haven't stopped the changes, we haven't been able to reverse them, but we know more about them now. knowledge can't fix everything at once, but it can help, and that's better than nothing.
