[It takes several seconds of staring for Ginko to process that, partly since he had been asleep a few moments ago. Is he actually awake? He's not sure he is.]

[ Nui has mostly kept to herself since her arrival, something that's only recently started to change with her interest in starting up a clinic of sorts in one of the towns. Now she's working with a few people, aiming towards a goal. It's not something she's used to doing, working with others. She's always just traveled by herself.

Today she's alone, though, with a few old, dusty pieces of plywood and a basket of miscellaneous herbs in her arms. Her changes are well along. Her green eye is now red, she has a long white tail that looks a lot like that of the mushi Ginko, and she has light green horns that look a lot like the Ah, with one tightly curled around one ear and the other unfurled outward.

She doesn't notice Ginko at first, but when she does she stops and nods. ] Ah, hello. It's been a while.

[...Well this is unexpected. Running into an acquaintance by chance wouldn't normally be something to be exceptionally alarmed about (even if they've grown a tail and horns since you've last seen them, at least here), but when her voice registers in his mind, when he recognizes her, any sort of response completely escapes him for a moment.

It's late in the afternoon when Steven creeps into Ginko's apartment unannounced. The troll is still sleeping when he does, of course, but this time Steven is being careful to not awaken him. He creeps over to the bed on all fours and then peeks over the side of the mattress.

After a few moments he hesitates over speaking up, and ends up just very carefully curling up on the end up the bed. He tries to relax. Somehow, the change in location helps. It doesn't take long before he's dozing.

A few minutes later, Ginko finally becomes gradually aware of the small weight at the end of his bed.

He pushes himself upright, rubbing the heel of his hand over his eye as he squints through the darkness. Being nocturnal means that low lighting doesn't give him too much trouble, of course, but... it also means he's not really meant to be trying to look at things at this time of day anyway.

"...Stev'n?"
