OPEN RP POST (wip)

This is a general catch-all post for anyone who wants to thread with Ginko in his original setting - or at least something resembling it. Want to play an AU? Post-jamjar? Unexpected interdimensional travel? It's all good! In addition, if you want to thread something with mushi and such but in a more modern setting, I'm totally open to modern-day AU's. I'm fine with prose, brackets, whatever.

Please note that I'm totally open to using this post for action, fluff, whatever, but not smut. If you have any additional questions about the setting or types of mushi, just message me on this account!

He nods, raising an eyebrow slightly. "Alright... but I should be okay."

After all, he's lived this long, right?

[gainedlove]

Frisk's frown intensifies for a moment, and they give Ginko a stern look (or what is presumably meant to be one, at least).

"We're being careful! You're not allowed to get hurt anymore!"

[onegreeneye]

"Okay, okay, we'll--"

He pauses. "...What do you mean by 'anymore'?"

Suddenly he's back to thinking about all their talk of "waking up again".

[gainedlove]

Oh, no.

They pause, a flash of guilt crossing their face, then turn and hurry down the path. "'Cuz...because you said about the mushis. An' I promised."

He'll get mad if he realizes. They don't want him to be mad.

[onegreeneye]

Ginko frowns.

Then, after a few long seconds, he says, very quietly, "Have I come through here before?"

Frisk stumbles to an abrupt halt, hands clenched tight onto their sleeves and shoulders stiff.

They're so bad at secrets. They don't want to have to wake up again so soon.

"N...no. We just met."

[onegreeneye]

"Frisk... you can tell me if there's something going on here. I just want to know what's happening."

[gainedlove]

They shake their head vehemently, hunching their shoulders.

"You're gonna get mad."

[onegreeneye]

"Why would I get mad?" He moves forward to kneel down next to them, examining them thoughtfully. "It doesn't seem like you've done anything wrong."

[gainedlove]

Frisk looks at Ginko out of the corner of their eye, shying away just slightly and shrinking in on themself.

"I wasn't...I wasn't careful enough. I had to wake up again for you."

Ginko blinks, silent for another few seconds as that sinks in.

"...So you're doing this all over again, then? Just because I got hurt?"

He doesn't sound angry. He's surprised, still a little confused - and cautious. When it comes down to it, they don't know what kind of mushi they're dealing with here (and by now he has little doubt that that's what it is) or what effect it may have if Frisk keeps using it. That would be his main concern here.

Frisk bites their lip when Ginko falls silent, a knot tying up in their gut...but nothing happens. They turn a little bit more towards him, unsure, and nod hesitantly.

"M...mm. I promised to get you over safe." Why isn't he yelling? The other man had. "You're not mad?"

[onegreeneye]

"Of course I'm not. Why would I be mad about that?"

He's also starting to wonder a little about what might have happened before to make them even expect that.

[gainedlove]

Frisk shrugs and looks away, their toes curling awkwardly into the dirt. "The other man got scared and yelled a lot when he knew. So I ran away."

Really, they don't know any other reason than that. When you only have a year's worth of memories, you tend to make some very strange assumptions about cause and effect.

Ginko's brow furrows. He guesses that's not too surprising; news like this could easily upset someone who wasn't used to dealing with mushi, and there were probably more possibly explanations besides. But...

"He may have just not known how to respond. But, believe me, I'm not going to get mad over something like that, alright?"

[gainedlove]

Frisk turns back to Ginko, and the tension in their small shoulders slowly ebbs away. They nod, smiling shyly.

"O...okay. I just wanna help."

[onegreeneye]

"I can tell. Thanks." He gives them a smile in return, and nods ahead of them.

"Want to keep going?"

[gainedlove]

"Yeah!"

They grab Ginko's hand and tug, waiting for him to stand before starting off down the path again.

He pushes himself to his feet and lets himself be pulled forward, following close behind them as they continue down the path. In a way, it's comforting to have some idea of what's going on here... but, on the other hand, he's not totally sure what kind of consequences their use of this mushi could have.

[gainedlove]

Frisk hums tunelessly to themself as they lead Ginko along, and soon enough the river comes into view. Swollen with recent rains, it's a little turbulent but mostly calm, and the riverbank is wide enough to let them walk with little trouble.

"Hey, what's a village like? I never saw one before."

[onegreeneye]

"...Well, the specifics depend on the village... in most of them, though, there are a bunch of houses, usually some farmland nearby. People live and work together in and around them."

[gainedlove]

"Farmland? What's that for?" Sounds kind of funny to them, but maybe it would make sense if they could see it. "That sounds nice, though. I've only ever seen a few people that walked through here."

[onegreeneye]

"It's for growing food." They don't even know what farmland is? "It can be... how many of them have you talked to?"

And did none of them mention any of this before.

[gainedlove]

"Oh. Why don't they just pick it? There's plenty all over."

Frisk frowns and counts on their hands for a moment before replying. "Three, I think." That's...that's really not a lot.

[onegreeneye]

"Not enough for a whole village. And not everyone knows which plants are safe to eat; some would be worried about getting hurt, too."

He raises an eyebrow. "Three? That's not very many."
